《伊索寓言》中收录有三十多则寓言，内容大多与动物有关。书中讲述的故事简短精练，刻画出来的形象鲜明生动，每则故事都蕴含哲理，或揭露和批判社会矛盾，或抒发对人生的领悟，或总结日常生活经验。[1]该寓言集通过描写动物之间的关系来表现当时的社会关系，主要是压迫者和被压迫者之间的不平等关系。寓言作者谴责当时社会上人压迫人的现象，号召受欺凌的人团结起来与恶人进行斗争。
今天，我们来收听伊索寓言故事：口渴的乌鸦。
The Thirsty Crow
It isahotday.Abird istired andthirsty.Just at that time heis very happy tosee a bottle.There is some water in it.But the bottle is tall and thin. "There is a bottlewithsome water in it." The bird says,"I"m so thirsty, but I can"t drink it. The bottle is too tall and thin." The bird cannot drink the water.He is sad.Soon the birdfindssome little stonesbeside the bottle. "Oh!Here are some stones! I have an idea."The birdhas agoodidea.He puts the stones into the bottle."One, two, three …"Look! The bird can drink the water now. "Great! Now I can drink the water! I"m so happy!" The birdisexcited.
