定语从句的识别和处理( 定从VS同从)定语从句对所修饰的名词加以修饰限定，说明其为此人(物)而非彼人(物) .同位语从句则大多由连接词that引导，常跟在表示事实的抽象名词，如fact, news, information, order, belief,reply, answer, saying等后面，用来解释说明这些词的具体含义与内容。
定语从句VS同位语从句
1.先行词不同
同位语从句的先行词是一些抽象名词 ,如idea ， fact ， news,hope,belief suggestion,proposal, word,thought,doubt,truth,possibility,promise,order等.
定语从句的先行词可以是名词，代词，主句的一部分或整个主句。
The possibility/that the majority of the labor force will work at home is often discussed.Our team has won the game, which made us very happy.
2.从句表达的含义不同同位语从句是对前面抽象名词的进一步解释说明，属于名词性从句范畴。
定语从句是对先行词的修饰和限制，属于形容词性从句范畴。
The news that our team has won the game was true.The news that he told me yesterday was true.
3.引导词及其在句子中成分不同that在定语从句中必须担当成分，在从句中一般作主语或宾语，并且作宾语时常常可以省略；
而在同位语从句中仅起连接作用，不充当任何成分。
有些引导词如how ， whether ， what可以引导同位语从句， 但不能引导定语从句。
1.The order that we should send a few people to help other groups was received yesterday.
2.The order that we received yesterday was that we should send a few people to help other groups.
3.In the past year,however, software companies have developed tools that allow companies to push information directly to consumers, transmitting marketing messages directly to targeted customers.(1999-Text2)
4.Nevertheless, the word "amateur" does carry a connotation that the person concerned is not fully integrated into the scientific community and, in particular, may not fully share in values.(2000- Text1)
