（83）The Wolf and the Lion
A wolf had stolen a lamb from a fold and was carrying him to his lair. A
Lion met him on his way, and seized the lamb, took it from him. Standing at a safe distance , the wolf cried,“It is unfair that you take what was mine from me!"The lion laughed at him and said, “It was fair for you to get the lamb, eh ?This lamb is a gift from a friend?"

一条狼从羊圈里偷了一头小羊，拖着小羊就往自己的窝走去。一头狮子在路上遇见他，一把抓过小羊，从狼那里抢了过来。狼跑到一个有一定距离的、足够安全的地方时，对着狮子喊道：“你把我的东西抢去了，这不公平！”狮子对他报以讥笑，说：“那么你搞到这只小羊就公平，嗯？这只小羊是朋友送你的一件礼物吗？”

（82）The Fox and the Bramble
A fox wanted to steal some chickens from a farmhouse, so he tried to climb the hedge around the house. But he lost his footing and caught hold of a bramble to save himself. The bramble pricked into his hands and feet and they were bleeding. The fox was very angry;he accused the bramble because, when he had asked her for help, she had treated him worse than the hedge itself.The bramble interrupted him, and said, “But you really must have been out of your senses to fasten yourself on me, when I am myself always used to fastening upon others.”
狐狸与荆棘
一只狐狸想从一家农户偷鸡，于是他就试着去爬农户周围的篱笆。但他失了脚，一把抓住一条荆棘来救命。荆棘刺进了他的手和脚，流出了血。狐狸非常生气，他指责荆棘，因为在他想让她求助的时候，她对他比篱笆对他还坏。荆棘打断他的话，说：“可是你真是糊涂了，竟然把自己靠在我身上，而我通常总是靠着别人的。”

（81）The Crow and the Sheep
A troublesome crow sat on the back of a sheep.The sheep hated this very much, but he still carried her and went about for a long time. At last he said,“If you sit on the back of a dog in this way, you will get your lunch from his sharp teeth." To this the crow replied,“I despise the weak and yield to the strong. I know whom.I may bully and whom I must flatter.In this way I prolong my life to a good old age.”
